Intro: Journal through shame and walking into the new

This journal began as I sat with the story of Joseph – his rise, his betrayal, his wilderness, and ultimately, his redemption. It wasn’t just a biblical narrative anymore. It was a mirror. God was speaking to me and revealing what I needed to face: the shame I’ve carried, the forgiveness I’ve withheld, the hard truths I’ve resisted. I needed to learn how to forgive, beginning with forgiving myself, before being able to step into whatever is next.

There are only five entries here. They aren’t meant to be final. They’re personal reflections and anchors I’ll return to, revisit, and wrestle with as I journey onwards and get to the place I’m looking for: a place where I am in full acceptance, forgiveness and healing.

I’m looking forward to the time where my strength is restored, where I can serve in the capacity as I did before. Joseph was forced into circumstances of immense shame, and his journey took 13 years. It was slow, hidden, and often unfair, but it trained him, honed his skills, and unleashed his purpose. It prepared him to save the nation of Israel. And I believe our healing, as slow as it may be, is doing the same.

If we choose reflection over repression, and the Word over the world’s noise, we can step into what we were always meant for and get to the place where we were called to: a place of peace, purpose and freedom.
